    Anna Matthews

Hello, my name is Anna Matthews. Since graduating in 1996 with a BA Ed (Honours) I have been employed in various independent and Local Authority schools in the South West, teaching 3-7 year olds (Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2).

In my most recent teaching post I was Early Years Foundation Stage Leader for nine years .The EYFS was judged as ‘Outstanding’ in 2010 in all categories inspected (outcomes, the quality of provision, the effectiveness of leadership and management and overall effectiveness of the EYFS).

My passion is working within the early years and I enjoy working closely with the children and their parents in a fun learning environment.

I have been a member of Girl Guiding Uk since 1978 and have been a leader of Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units. My more recent appointments have been joint Commissioner of Weston-Mendip District and Weston-super-Mare Division Adult Leadership Qualification Coordinator. I also enjoy fundraising for ‘The Luhimba Project’, a small Weston-super-Mare based charity which supports the improvement of education, health and agriculture in a remote village in Southern Tanzania.
